→ Take a sneak peek at the hotel rising from the ashes of Black Saturdday …
I ENJOYED a sneak peek at the new Vibe Hotel Marysville a few days after it opened in February.
Marysville, which is surrounded by the Yarra Ranges National Park a couple of hours from Melbourne, was all-but destroyed during the Black Saturday fires in 2009.
The new hotel marks a significant milestone in the town’s recovery — it’s the first major hotel to open and will complement the assortment of boutique B&B properties that reappeared after the flames — and will not only offer visitors a place to stay but provide a location for locals to congregate.
Vibe Hotel Marysville has 101 rooms, a conference space able to accommodate 300 guests, cafe and restaurant, day spa, and swimming pool with the building taking on an alpine appearance that suits the mountain settlement.
Radius, the hotel’s new eatery, is offering fine paddock-to-plate dining with the majority of ingredients sourced within 100km of the property.
