After spending the day moored in Ghent, so passengers could visit that city and nearby Brugge, the Amadeus Silver III drifts north along the Ghent Canal towards Holland’s Westerschelde waterway and the following day’s exploring in Antwerp.

One of the most delightful aspects of river cruising is the moving about that happens between touring, with the boat regularly repositioning between tourist towns, and most of the sailing happens in the later afternoon and at night which means the passing landscapes are often complimented by beautiful sunsets.

Here the Amadeus River Cruises vessel creeps past the green pastures and lines of evergreen trees that seem to define Europe’s low country.
