BRISBANE’S first street-art hotel has opened in Constance Street with TRYP Brisbane welcoming its first guests.
The property, which is also the first TRYP by Wyndham hotel in Australia, is in the heart of the Queensland capital’s entertainment district and inside the business precinct emerging on the outskirts of the CBD making it popular with business and leisure travellers.
Four street artists – Beastman, Rone, Numskull and Fintan Magee – were each assigned a different floor of the hotel while it was being constructed and given the brief to fill the space with original murals that celebrated Brisbane’s street-art scene.
”The four-storey hotel’s queen and king rooms reflect the street-art theme, with edgy decor complementing contemporary styling,’’ a media release from the hotel explained.
“Guests are within walking distance of key business centres and some of Brisbane’s top attractions, including world-class shopping and dining, Fortitude Valley’s iconic super clubs and bars, James Street Market and Chinatown.”
