THE Pullman Albert Park, set beside Melbourne’s Albert Park Lake and the back strait of the city’s Formula One track, is an agreeable hotel that’s perfect for both business and leisure travellers.

The 169-room property, which opened last September after a multi-million-dollar renovation to an existing Queens Road building, is the first Pullman to welcome guests in the Victorian capital.

The hotel is ideal for those relying on public transport – the tram, which zooms along St Kilda Road to the arts precinct and Federation Square before venturing along Swanston Street to the heart of Melbourne’s CBS shopping zone, is only a block away – while Windows restaurant is a nice dinner-time alternative to the dining options nearby.

SUMMARY …

What I like … the staff, especially in the dining room and those manning the front door, are a delight.

What I don’t … the shower recess doesn’t keep the water from flooding across the bathroom floor
