HUA HIN, the beach-side settlement that’s long been a favourite with the Thai royal family, is home to the newest AVANI hotel.
The AVANI Hua Hin Resort is a block from the beach but boasts lush tropical gardens with each of the 196 guest rooms, suites and villas looking across the vast lagoon-style pools that stretch through the heart of the address.
The resort is 200km from Bangkok, with the journey taking a little under three hours by road, and a stone’s throw from Mrigadayavan Summer Palace which was the royal family’s holiday home for decades and is now open for tourists to explore.
The resort offers an assortment of activities and excursions to help visitors explore the area – market tours for foodies, painting classes and street-art strolls for art lovers – while the AVANIKids Club takes care of junior travellers with activities from pool time and marine adventures to face painting and indoor games.
When it comes to accommodation the superior and deluxe rooms feature a private balcony while the villas and suites boast either a plunge pool or Jacuzzi with gazebo.
The 12 one and two-bedroom apartments known as “lagoon pool villas” have direct access to the main swimming pool making the category an ideal choice for friends or families members travelling together and seeking a private space that’s close to the resort’s many attractions.
AVANI’s “culinary experiences celebrate authentic Thai dishes, rustic Italian flavours and international fare with an emphasis on fresh local produce” while guests looking to do more than sit by the pool can take part in water-based endeavours like kite surfing and paddle boarding.
