DOWNTOWN Portland is the place to find Oregon’s newest place to stay with The Porter the 50th address to open under the innovative Curio Collection by Hilton brand which celebrates “one-of-a-kind hotels and resorts”.
“Inspired by the independence and natural beauty of Portland, the hotel resonates the city’s ambience through its rich and textured aesthetic with a name that personifies the tradition of personalized and anticipatory service,” a Curio by Hilton media release explains.
The Porter is home to 297 guest rooms, library, and heated indoor pool as well as a sauna room, steam room, meditation spa, and fitness centre while each guest suite comes complete with complimentary wifi and a minibar stocked with local products.
The 16-storey building sits in the vibrant Fountain District, a 20-minute drive from the city’s airport, giving guests easy access to the trendy city’s shops and restaurants and while Portland is known as one of America’s most walkable cities the MAX Light Rail station is a short stroll from the front door.
Executive Chef AJ Voytko, a rising star of the local culinary scene who has already won many newcomer awards, is in charge of The Porter’s four dining venues with the seasonal menus inspired by local Oregon ingredients.
